Skills:
My work over the years has
seen me
produce top quality animation for TV commercials, TV series and feature
films.
To facilitate easier character animation, I created the
Skeleton
Rig for
3ds max which - in the time spent continually improving it - has
increased my rigging skills to a professional level. This rig
has
grown from a personal project to become regarded as one
of the best bipedal animation rigging solutions currently available.
A few years ago, I made the
step up to an
animation director role, supervising the output of 24
animators
who completed 20, 22 minute episodes for the TV series
Animalia,
over a period of 14 months. This work has been very rewarding
as
a chance to inspire animators to achieve great animation with
believable acting performances. I drew upon my experience to
solve problems in the most efficient way possible given the notoriously
harsh time constraints series work affords. Along with
animation
development and approval, I took briefs for episodes from the director,
worked with production staff to help expedite throughput to help
increase the animation quality in the time given for each episode,
mediated staff issues and reviewed demo reels for hiring personnel.
My current work sees me putting all of my
rigging knowledge to the ultimate test of feature film visual effects,
where the work I produce must be of the highest quality. I am
also currently expanding my technical knowledge to include the writing
of plugins to expand the functionality of maya in ways I used to be
only able to dream of.
Through all of the stresses
that this industry often provides, I am also able to keep
composed and very friendly towards my co-workers and have been
commended for
team spirit and my attitude in dealing with stressful situations.
